Charlotte Chesnais
First a stylist, Charlotte Chesnais honed her ready-to-wear creations at Balenciaga, with Nicolas Ghesquière. She was entrusted with the jewellery line of the luxury fashion house, then racked up collaborations with prestigious brands like Kenzo and Paco Rabanne. She launched her own label in 2015, with a jewellery line that won the ANDAM Fashion Accessories Prize in its first year. In 18-carat gold, silver or vermeil, her jewellery is made in French workshops renowned for their excellence. She is also a consultant designer for A.P.C., Paco Rabanne and Uniqlo. Charlotte Chesnais jewellery: rhythmic expression and curves. Inspired by sculpture and drawing, Charlotte Chesnais earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings form a rhythmic melody of woven lines, swooping strokes, curves and refined shapes. Each creation dances with the outline of the ear, wrist, neck or finger. By playing with balance and construction, using improbable perspectives, like signatures scribbled in the air, these jewels are an ode to movement, lightness and fluidity, specific to each piece. Charlotte Chesnais cultivates the art of the unexpected: the arch of a ring that overflows from the finger, the circle of a loop that springs from the lobe of the ear. They flirt with jewellery and sculpture, exuding a fiercely feminine feel. It's a repertoire that is being constantly rewritten, a clever combination of the graphic and the organic, the abstract and the classic, within one-of-a-kind collections. Gold, silver and vermeil. At Charlotte Chesnais, three metals lead the dance: 18 carat gold, vermeil and silver. The latter two frequently go hand in hand, happily joining forces with coloured enamel, like on the vermeil-lacquered Brahma rings or the Saturn S Blow earrings. Silver and vermeil, again, form a powerful partnership on the Galilea L earrings and the Blaue ring - materials of immense nobility, crafted with care and creativity in workshops located in France.
