Recognised for its ambidextrous boots and unique approach to lacing, the brand has dominated the world of après-ski across borders and generations. We take a look back at its history. It was in 1969 that Giancarlo Zanatta dreamt up the famous Moon Boot, the shoe with a retro-futuristic style. Inspiration came to him after witnessing - like millions of others at the time - the first steps of Man on the moon in front of his TV. Determined to design a shoe as innovative as the technological feat he had just witnessed, he imagined a comfortable boot that would be easy to slip on thanks to its two identical feet. And with winter sports increasingly popular at the time, the design was an immediate hit. The Moon Boot quickly made its mark in many of the chicest resorts, before winding its way through the others. Elegant and colourful, the boots are designed for her, for him and for their children. And their legendary status was confirmed when the Moon Boot was exhibited at the Louvre, for an exhibition looking back at 100 of the 20th century's most iconic creations. Today, the brand is back, with more contemporary and feminine designs, like the Ltrack, and is seducing a whole new generation, always ready to experiment with fashion and mix up inspirations and looks. While it remains the footwear of choice for the likes of Madonna and Mariah when they’re holidaying on the slopes, the Moon Boot is now a must-have beyond the snowy peaks.
