Article 1 – Organizer and purpose of the prize 

The Fashion prize for Web3 creators is a prize that recognized the creativity of the web3 creators in digital design generally, and specifically but not limited to, in digital art, digital fashion, skins gaming & metaverse fashion and accessories. This prize will give the opportunity to five (5) Finalists to see their submission project turned into a real life accessory thanks to 3D printing technology and integrate a capsule collection dedicated to the work of these Finalists. This 3D printed bag will also be accompanied by an NFT that celebrated the creator’s creative work and creative process. 

As part of its involvement in the world of metaverse and tech fashion, Monnier Paris (« The organizer ») is partnering with Decentraland and Republiqe Clothing to launch the first edition of the Fashion Prize for Web3 creators (the «Prize»). 

 

Article 2 – Candidates eligibility

Candidates’ criteria 

The Prize is open to any company, individual or legal entity that meets the following conditions (individually a "Candidate" and collectively the "Candidates") 

- The Candidate(s) is/are 18 years of age or older 

- The Applicant has all moral rights attached to the project 

There is no nationality requirement for the Candidate(s) to participate to the Fashion Prize for Web3 Creators. 

The Applicant should be recognized as a Web3 creator. 

The Prize is Limited to 200 submissions – after we will close the submission phase.  

 

Project criteria 

The Candidate must submit a 3D printable fashion bag project.  

All pieces of the submission need to be completed for the submission. 

This accessory will be printed in plastic then be sold on Monnier Paris website. 

The Candidate must deliver the 3D project an OBJ, GLB or FBX file. 

The Candidate can either submit a project printable in one piece or in several pieces to assemble. The Candidate will have to make sure that the project is 3D printable in ABS and that the project is limited to three (3) colors.

 

Modality of participation 

Participation to the competition is free. 

To enter the competition, Candidates submit their candidature via webpage hosted on Monnier Paris website.  

The submission will consist in: 

  • A link to digital online Portfolio of past work in digital design  

  • An Inspiration or mood board for the bag in a PDF format. 

  • A 3D project design in the right format for 3D printing (OBJ, GLB or FBX) with a 2GB size limit.  

  • A 3D render of the project to support the 3D printing (CAO/DAO format jpeg, pdf, png) with a 2GB size limit.  

  • A photo or an avatar of the creator(s) (format jpeg, pdf, png…) 

  • A short bio of the creator(s)  

  • Contact details – email / social media profile / address / telephone (none of these will be used for communication order then prize related) 

  • Transfer of copyright to Monnier Freres from the five finalists for the production and sell of capsule collection 

Entrants can only submit one file to the competition. 

The Prize is limited to 200 submissions. No additional submission can be accepted if the 200 submissions allowed are reached. 

Entrants may either make a submission individually or as a team. 

Once the final submissions are sent, no additional changes, or edits can be made. An exception is made for the 5 Finalists who will be exceptionally allowed to make changes to the project on request of the 3D printer, only for printability feasibility reasons. 

Each participant will be sent a confirmation email notification within seven days upon the submission of the final entry. 

Monnier Paris holds the right to disqualify any submission which is non-compliant to the competition guidelines or do not meet the rules and regulations.  

All submissions after the closing date shall be automatically disqualified. Monnier Paris shall be under no obligation to notify the entrant or participant of the disqualified entry or submission. 
 

Article 3 – Selection Process 

The selection of Finalists will be made by a commission of experts composed of qualified and recognized personalities from the fashion world and NFT universe designed and chosen by Monnier Paris.  

There will be 5 Finalists designed by the Jury , and among them one winner elected by community vote. 

 

The jury will evaluate the submission in 3 different criteria: 

  • Design: The project must show a form of creativity and a good knowledge of Web3 codes and culture. 

  • Practicality & market: While this piece is in-between an art piece and a wearable item, it will only be looked at from a practicality, wearability perspective, do-ability, and commercial production potential.  

  • Vision & mission:  the jury will look at the message that the designer is pushing across with its design. 

 

Then the Winner will be elected by community vote on Monnier website.  

The Jury may also elect a Special Jury Price. 

The vote will be opened from September 10th until September 25th.2023. 

Participation to the vote is opened to all physical person. Minors may participate to the vote provided they have valid authorization from a parent or legal guardian. The Organizer may request such authorization at any time and, in the absence of valid authorization, the vote will be considered as null. 

The vote is only possible on Monnier Paris website. Other ways to vote, via any other channels (social networks, email, …) shall not be counted. The vote is only accepted when all the voting form is correctly filled in. Each participant to the vote can only express one vote. Multiple participations of a same person via several electronic addresses, with different identities or other means, are prohibited. 

The Organizer shall modify, report, suspend or change the terms of the vote (or part of it) at their discretion. 

The Organizer will not be held responsible for any technical issue related to the vote. Monnier Paris shall intervene in case of fraud attempt aiming to impact the vote results. Participants (including Candidates) who would be responsible of such fraud attempts shall be disqualified and excluded from the vote or the competition. 

 

Article 4: Prize description 

The Fashion prize for Web3 creators is a prize that recognizes the creativity of the web3 creators in digital design generally, and specifically but not limited to, in digital art, digital fashion, gaming, skins and gaming & metaverse fashion and accessories. This prize will give the opportunity to five (5) Finalists to see their submission project turned into a real life accessory thanks to 3D printing technology and integrate a capsule collection dedicated to the work of these Finalists. This 3D printed accessory will also be accompanied by an NFT that celebrates the creator’s creative work and creative process. This capsule collection will be sold through a drop sale on Monnier Paris.   

 

The five (5) Finalists selected by the jury will have the opportunity to: 

  • Produce one (1) bag using 3D technology. (all producing costs will be at the Oganizer expense) 

The Winner, selected by community votes, will win in addition: 

  • 5 thousands euros (5000) cash prize. The terms of payment of the Prize will be the subject of an agreement between the Winners and the Organizer, which will be concluded prior to the presentation of Prize.  

  • The Opportunity to design A digital fashion capsule collection created in collab with Republiqe and sold on Monnier Paris. The description of this capsule contents, rights and commercialization shall be defined in a later agreement. 

 

The Prize shall be awarded to the Winner at a public ceremony on September 27th 2023 organized by Monnier Paris in which the Winners' project may be presented.  

The participants acknowledge that by submitting their application to the competition they grant all copyrights related to the submitted projects to Monnier Paris in order to produce and sell the bags. 

 

The Prize is strictly personal and may not be awarded to or used by anyone other than the Winners. The rights and obligations arising from the Prize may not be assigned or transferred by the Prize-Winners to a third party. 

 

Article 5: Timetable 

The estimated timetable for the 2023 Prize is as follows: 

  • Official launch on the 28th of march – we need to be able to receive the first subscription.  

  • Closing of the subscription 15th of May (time) or when 200 submissions reached 

  • Jury review from the 15th of May to the 22nd of June 

  • Announcement of the 5 Finalists on the 23rd of June 

  • Product fabrication phase 23rd of June to 10th of September 

  • vote for the prize Winner community activation: 10th of September to 25th of September.  

  • Announcement of prize Winner & jury choice on the 27th of September (during Paris fashion week) and event on the 27th 

  • Exhibition of the 3D product from the 27th to the 11 of October (including drop sale subscription) 

These dates are given for information purposes only. They may be modified at the discretion of the Organizer if circumstances so require. The Organizer may thus shorten, suspend, postpone, modify or cancel the organization of the Prize without being held responsible and without any prejudice or loss of opportunity for the Candidates, even at the stage of the selection of the Finalists by the Committee of Experts or their hearing by the Jury. 

 

Article 6: Candidates Commitments 

Ownership and Copyright ​

The ownership of copyright in the work of all submissions will be in accordance with the “Code de la propriété intellectuelle, which implies the copyright of any design, drawings accompanying any entry or submission rests with the author. All registered trademarks, symbols or words are owned and protected by, and property of the respective trademark owners. 

 
No entrants or participants shall receive or be entitled to receive any payment in any form for submission or for granting Monnier Paris any right herein, other than for being selected as one of the winning entries of the competition. 

 

Competition entrants are prohibited from sale, assignment or transfer of any of their submission rights to a third party.  

The participants acknowledge that by submitting their application to the competition they grant all copyrights related to the submitted projects to Monnier Paris in order to produce and sell the bags. 

 

Plagiarism 

If charges of plagiarism are made against an entrant or participant, the charges are to be addressed at the earliest by the accused entrant or participant. Monnier Paris holds the right to take down the content from all its channels until the matter is resolved. 

The competition participants agree to share their entries for making publication based on competition results by entering the Monnier Paris competition. Participants are solely responsible for protecting the intellectual property of any submission to Monnier Paris competitions. 

 

 

Moral Engagement

By entering the competition, the entrants certifies that they never made any discriminatory acts or remarks against any social group. The Organizer reserves the right to eliminate the Candidates at any stage of the competition if they had committed any racist, sexist or homophobic acts or words.  

The Organizer reserves the right to eliminate without notice any project showing any sign of discrimination against any social group or individual.   

 

Exclusivity

In order to enter the competition, the entrants must present an exclusive project and certify that they will not sell it or present it to any other entity. 

If a subsequent reproduction of the product for further sale shall happen. This production should be part of a subsequent agreement between Monnier Paris and the creator. 

 

Publicity and publication

By entering the competition, the participant agrees that any material (name, description, details, images, illustration, animation, 3D render and portfolio) provided in the application may be published and used for publicity purposes by Monnier Paris. 

Winners agree to, and shall upon request at a reasonable notice, participate in publicity or promotional activity around the competition, like interviews, personally or otherwise. Each opportunity shall be taken on merit, and each participant or entrant shall have the right to decline any such opportunity. 

 

Article 7: Organizer responsibility 

Competition Cancellation / Withdrawal 

The right to cancel or suspend or alter the rules of the competition at any point in time is held by Monnier Paris, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside its control. 
 

Competition Integrity

Monnier Paris undertakes to scrupulously protect the integrity of the competitions by providing a unique registration number to each of the submissions, which will be the only identifier for the particular submission. This means the digital board received will be stored under their registration numbers, with the complementary information kept in a separate document. Apart from the unique registration number, any drawing, illustration, or narrative should not bear any marks, logos, symbols or sign that may identify its authority or source, and infringement of these rules will lead to immediate disqualification. The jury panel may be disclosed, subject to the competition, before or after the evaluation and declaration of the results of the competition, with the sole rights of the final decision to do so resting with Monnier Paris. 

 

Candidates’ independence  

Monnier Paris does not intervene in the creative choices of Candidates, Finalists or Winners, nor in the organization of their work, nor in the management of their activity.  

Under no circumstances may a Candidate, finalist or Winner be an employee of the Organizers.  

Participation in the Prize does not confer any power on a Candidate, finalist or Winner to present himself as a representative of the Organizers or to conclude any act whatsoever in the name/ and on behalf of the Organizers.  

The Organizer reserve the right to exclude at any time a Candidate, a Finalist or the case of depriving a Winner of his title, in the event of non-compliance with the terms of these rules or conduct likely to harm the reputation of the Organizer their officers, directors or employees. 

 

Article 8: Claims

The jury’s determination of any winning entry or submission through its panel of jury members will be final. If under any circumstances a selected winning entry cannot accept, receive or is ineligible for the Prize for any reason, the highest ranked entry from the top shortlisted or remaining entries that meet the winning requirement shall be deemed the Winner. Monnier Paris’s association with the jury members do not imply any legal association, affiliation, contract or partnership in any way, shape or form. 
 

Organisation and Administration

Prize and design competitions on www.monnier.com are organised and administered by Monnier Paris. Monnier Paris holds the rights to assign any juries, agents or other authorised administrator to administer its competitions, including making any decision or exercising such at its discretion. 

 

Article 9: Privacy policy 

Monnier Paris is aware of your privacy and its importance. Any information collected on our site is used only for processing and administration of your competition entry according to the competition guidelines, rules and regulations and optimise your visit to our site from your personal experience.  

 

Our Collected Information  

Monnier Paris will hold the right to use any information/document shared during the registration for promotion purposes.  

 

Personal information -- such as name, surname, email address, telephone number provided by the participant is necessary for entering the competition, uploading the application and contacting the Finalists. If the participant does not provide this information, the application will be cancelled. By applying to the competition, the Participant undertakes to provide sincere and true information. 

The company will not disclose, sell or transfer Participants information to third parties for processing specific to them, without the Participant having given his express consent.  

Personal data can be transmitted to third parties without the prior consent of the participant, if the disclosure is legally required or necessary (for example, at the request of the police force, judiciary and other bodies). 

 

In accordance with the Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978 modified in 2019 by RGPD rules, the collection and processing of personal data is subject to the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) declaration, registration number 1503539. 

The personal data collected on the Site are intended for the Company and all third-party subcontractors who provide services in connection with the management of the Site or the services offered on it. Thus, the Company may communicate this information to the above-mentioned third-party subcontractors. In this case, these third parties will only have access to the personal data that are essential to the performance of the service entrusted to them. 

 

In accordance with the Data-processing law and Freedoms of January 6, 1978, modified in 2019 by RGPD rules the Customer has a right of access, of correction, opposition and suppression on all the data relating to it seized on the Site by carrying out his request and by justifying his identity with the following address MONNIER Frères, 2 place des Victoires - 75001 Paris - France. 

Monnier Paris undertakes to delete all data collected within a period of up to three months following the contest. 

 

Article 10 – Amendment and changes  

Monnier Paris reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice. The responsibility is yours to check the website regularly if we have made any changes to these terms and conditions. 
 

Whenever there is any change in our privacy policy, or in the method of our collection or use of your information, it will be reflected on the website, and the information will be delivered to you. You will be given the opportunity to agree or disagree with the same. Although in case of any discrepancy, Monnier Paris ‘s decision will be considered final.
